Quotation Approval Rules
Which quotations an approver has to check before they go to the customer, and who. A quotation a rule covers cannot be sent, or turned into an order, until every approver has signed; one no rule covers is sent as it always was.

The form
What is asked for when a record is created here. Required fields are marked; a choice drawn from a configuration list is one an administrator can extend without a release.
| Field | Type | Choices | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Code required | Text | ||
| Name required | Text | ||
| Order | Number | Every rule that matches applies; lower numbers collect their signatures first. | |
| Applies from amount | Number | The quotation's total in the company's own currency. 0 means every quotation. | |
| Applies from a discount of (%) | Number | The largest discount on any line. Leave empty when discounts do not matter to this rule. | |
| Only for customer | Choice | Looked up from existing records | |
| Organizational unit | Choice | Looked up from existing records | The quotations of this unit and every unit beneath it. The top of the company means every quotation. |
| Who approves required | Choice | Anyone holding a role, The raiser's reporting line (HRMS), A named person | |
| Levels up the reporting line | Number | 1 is the manager of whoever raised the quotation, 2 adds their manager, up to 5. | |
| Role | Choice | Looked up from existing records | For "anyone holding a role": a sign-in role, not a position in HRMS. On a reporting-line rule it is the last resort, used when the raiser has nobody above them in HRMS. |
| Person | Choice | Looked up from existing records | For "a named person". Somebody with no sign-in yet is still the approver; the quotation waits for them. |

The rules that apply here
Everything on this screen obeys the platform rules rather than rules of its own. The ones worth knowing before you use it:
- Narrowing a list — search, conditions, sort, totals, export and saved views.
- What may be changed — the five grounds a record may not be edited on.
- Companies and business units — what the switcher above this list is doing to it.
- Creating a record — required fields, where choices come from, and how the number is allocated.
- Importing a spreadsheet — this screen accepts one, and it runs through the same rules as typing.
