Approval Delegations
Who is signing for whom while they are away. A record rather than an edit to the rule: the rule still says what the company’s policy is, this says who is covering, and the approval itself says which of the two it went to and why.

The form
What is asked for when a record is created here. Required fields are marked; a choice drawn from a configuration list is one an administrator can extend without a release.
| Field | Type | Choices | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Handing over required | Choice | Looked up from existing records | |
| Covering required | Choice | Looked up from existing records | |
| From required | Date | ||
| Until required | Date | Required. A delegation with no end is one somebody forgot to cancel. | |
| Covers | Choice | purchase_orders, requisitions | Leave empty to cover both. |
| Up to | Number | In the company’s own currency. A document worth more stays with the person handing over. Leave empty for any amount. | |
| Why required | Long text | Saving hands the signatures already waiting on this person to the cover as well. One cover at a time for the same documents and dates. | |
| Active | Yes or no |
The rules that apply here
Everything on this screen obeys the platform rules rather than rules of its own. The ones worth knowing before you use it:
- Narrowing a list — search, conditions, sort, totals, export and saved views.
- What may be changed — the five grounds a record may not be edited on.
- Companies and business units — what the switcher above this list is doing to it.
- Creating a record — required fields, where choices come from, and how the number is allocated.
- Importing a spreadsheet — this screen accepts one, and it runs through the same rules as typing.
