What changed (1 October 2026)
Sourcing responses scored and ranked as they arrive, awards in rank order, suppliers registered for spend categories, capital equipment drafted onto the asset register on receipt, readable kanban figures, clearer employee records — and, later the same day, sign-in for new people, per-line lead times, approvers named any way, units chosen from a list, and duplicates marked as reviewed.
Strategic sourcing
- Every response to a sourcing event is scored and ranked as it is recorded. An event starts with Price 60, Lead time 20 and Payment terms 20, each scored against the best offer; evaluators mark judgement criteria such as technical compliance and quality with Evaluate on the criteria, in a marks grid. A criterion nobody answered is left out and the weights rescale; a must-pass failure ranks below; a tie goes to the lower price. See Scoring, comparing and awarding a sourcing event.
- The event’s Evaluation criteria block adds criteria and changes weights. Compare offers shows each supplier’s score on every criterion, total and rank, and explains the scoring in words.
- Award lists the responders in rank order with their scores, and asks for a reason only when you choose someone other than the one ranked first.
- The Invited suppliers grid shows Score, Rank, Lead time and Payment terms. Correcting a response’s lead time or payment terms re-ranks the event immediately.
- Suppliers to invite, on Publish, is a searchable picker by supplier number or name. A supplier’s Registered for (Supply Chain → Suppliers → Edit) is a pick-list of spend categories; publishing sends the enquiry to everyone registered for the event’s category, and says where to register suppliers when nobody is. See Which suppliers an enquiry goes to.
Capital equipment
- Receiving an item marked Capitalizable on its Costing (with an Asset class and One asset per unit received), or one ordered from a Capital equipment requisition, drafts one asset per unit — or per serial number — with its cost, supplier, purchase order and goods receipt.
- New: Accounting → Assets → Assets to Capitalise. Capitalise takes the unit out of stock, posts it to its class’s asset account and starts depreciation; Not an asset cancels the draft, with a reason, and the goods stay in stock. A draft missing its class is flagged with what is missing.
- A return to the supplier before capitalising cancels the drafts. The receipt line shows its assets, and Fixed Assets has Goods receipt and Purchase order columns. Receipts made before this change are not drafted automatically. See From a capital purchase to the asset register.
Manufacturing
- Kanban Board text is readable for every user. Oldest signal (h) on Kanban Loops shows one decimal place; a machine’s minutes in state and an operation’s estimated and actual hours are rounded. See Reading the kanban board and loops.
HRMS
- A link from a card in an employee’s 360° view opens the list filtered to that employee, with Show all to clear it.
- Personnel actions show dates in your own format and Proposed as readable fields and values, and are limited to your company.
- The employee’s Edit drawer says which header fields it does not change — Status and Scheduled change change through Terminate, Plan separation or Change status — and shows a "cannot change" note once, under the field.
- Copy on an employee opens a filled-in form to review, saving nothing until Save, then opens the new record with a confirmation. Enter the new person’s name and hire date.
- As at filters Work relationships and the other tabs to what was in force on that day.
- A work relationship cannot start after a terminated or retired employee’s leaving date: a return is a rehire, a new employee record.
- Add on Work relationships, Right to work and Compliance from the employee fills in the employee and person. See Working with an employee’s record.
Later the same day
- Single sign-on: somebody new to TRANXACT who signs in through the company directory (OpenID Connect) is given an account with Help & Support only, and Ask for access raises a ticket. An administrator gives the real role under Platform → Access → Users. Create a sign-in for new people, on the connection, is on by default. See Signing in for the first time through your company directory.
- Record a response offers only the suppliers invited to the event. Lead time belongs to each line, and the response’s lead time is its longest line; the field above the lines fills those left blank. Payment terms are days of credit, or picked from the list (Net 30 is 30). See Recording a supplier’s response to an RFQ, RFP or tender.
- Evaluate on the criteria shows what the responses are scored on, each criterion’s weight and scale (0 to 10, for example), takes numbers only in Mark with words in Comment, and shows what each mark is worth. Award shows each score’s make-up. See Scoring, comparing and awarding a sourcing event.
- An item’s base, sales, purchasing and barcode units of measure are chosen from Supply Chain → Units of Measure. Serial prefix appears only for serialized items, and the lot fields only under lot control. See An item’s units of measure, lots and serial numbers.
- Which spend categories are capital is set under Platform → Configuration Lists → Spend categories with Capital purchases. See From a capital purchase to the asset register.
- Approval rules and levels for purchase orders and requisitions name their approver one way: a named person (no HRMS needed), an employee, whoever holds a position, anyone with a role, the cost center’s manager, or the reporting line. Only the matching field is needed, and the conditions are optional. A cost center has a Responsible person for companies without HRMS. See Choosing who approves a purchase order or requisition.
- ASK finds cost centers, profit centers, GL accounts and other master data by code or by name, and its confirmation cards show the code. See When ASK asks you to confirm.
- Possible Duplicate Patients, Employees, Students and Applicants: Not a duplicate, with a reason kept in both records’ history; open either record from the row; Create anyway counts as reviewed. Merging is not available. See The same person twice.
- The Medications list includes prescriptions from Prescribing. See Every medication a patient is on.
- Kanban Loops has a Needs attention column, and its headings explain themselves (ⓘ). See Reading the kanban board and loops.
- Report screens page 50 rows at a time (25 to 200), with search and filters over every row. Save view’s Open this view whenever I open this list says what it will replace. See Narrowing a list.
- When the system is busy, a short "please try again in a moment" replaces a long wait. See When the system is busy.
