A company’s tax profile

Every company now says which tax and e-invoicing regime it works under (None, India GST, KSA ZATCA or US sales tax) on Platform → Company Structure. India GST switches GST on for that company; None switches it off.

Until now, whether a company charged GST was inferred from an Indian Entity record somebody had filled in. It is now said outright, on the company itself, and the Company Structure list shows it in a Tax profile column.

  1. Open Platform → Configuration → Core Settings → Company Structure.
  2. Edit the company. Under Tax profile (e-invoicing country) choose India GST, KSA ZATCA, US sales tax or None, or leave Worked out from the country.
  3. Save. The Tax profile column shows the regime in force; worked out beside it means it was not chosen but read from the company’s country and records.
  • India GST is for a company that operates in India. It switches on the GST screens, GST on the sales documents, the per-GSTIN invoice numbering and the e-way bill flags.
  • KSA ZATCA is for a company that operates in Saudi Arabia. It is switched on by the company’s Saudi tax jurisdiction (Accounting → Close & Compliance → Tax → Tax Jurisdictions); the profile reports it.
  • US sales tax is for a company in the United States, and is what draws the Sales Tax Wizard.
  • None switches all of them off, whatever the country says.
  • Indian companies already in the system were given India GST when this arrived, so nothing changed for them.
