What the finance jobs may do on their own
Cash application, supplier invoice matching, payment proposals, dunning, credit hold and the scheduled close steps find their work by themselves; what they may DO with it is the company's autonomy level for each job, and the default changes nothing.
Every finance job hands what it found over at the company's autonomy level for that job: notify (the people responsible are told; nothing changes), approve (an approval is raised; the change is made when it is approved) or act (the change is made now and the people responsible are told what was done).
- fin.cash-application: apply bank receipts to the invoices they pay. Default notify.
- fin.ap-match: post a supplier invoice that matches its order and receipt. Default notify.
- fin.payment-proposal: release a payment proposal into a draft payment batch. Default approve.
- fin.dunning: send the dunning letters. Default notify.
- fin.credit-hold: put a customer on credit hold. Default notify.
- fin.close-month: let a SCHEDULED close step post. Default notify. A close run started by a person posts as that person.
- fin.finance-watch: budget and cash alerts. Always notify.
The thresholds behind the findings are in Accounting, Finance Automation, Finance Automation Settings: the confidence at which a cash match may be applied and at which it is suggested, the amount tolerance, the payment horizon and the account to pay from, the days overdue before a credit hold (empty: no automatic hold), the roles that may post into a soft-closed period, the budget variance and the cash floor.
Every job is in Platform, Batch Jobs, and comes with a paused schedule: Daily cash application, Daily supplier invoice match, Weekly payment proposal, Hourly e-invoice retries, Daily budget and cash alerts. Arm the schedule (choose who it runs as) to switch one on.
