Hiring Requisitions
A request for a post: what it is, which grade, where, what it costs for a year, and why it is needed. Send it for signature and it collects the approvals its value calls for; only an approved vacancy can be advertised.

The form
What is asked for when a record is created here. Required fields are marked; a choice drawn from a configuration list is one an administrator can extend without a release.
| Field | Type | Choices | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Post required | Text | ||
| Department | Text | ||
| Position | Choice | Looked up from existing records | The seat being filled. A vacancy against a position is what makes an establishment countable. |
| Grade | Choice | Looked up from existing records | Filled from the position when the position has a grade. |
| Location | Choice | Looked up from existing records | Where the post sits. It is also what the space and the ID card are arranged against when somebody accepts. |
| Cost center | Choice | Looked up from existing records | |

| Why the vacancy exists | Choice | growth, replacement, backfill, conversion, seasonal, project | |
| Employment type | Choice | full_time, part_time, contract, temporary, intern | |
| Wanted by | Date | ||
| Annual cost of the post | Number | Salary plus everything that follows it, for one post for one year. It is what decides who has to sign, so a request without it cannot be sent for approval. | |

The rules that apply here
Everything on this screen obeys the platform rules rather than rules of its own. The ones worth knowing before you use it:
- Narrowing a list — search, conditions, sort, totals, export and saved views.
- What may be changed — the five grounds a record may not be edited on.
- Companies and business units — what the switcher above this list is doing to it.
- Creating a record — required fields, where choices come from, and how the number is allocated.
- Importing a spreadsheet — this screen accepts one, and it runs through the same rules as typing.
