When ASK asks you to confirm
ASK changes nothing until you press Confirm on the list of changes it shows — and that list stays until you answer it.
Every change ASK would make — creating a record, changing one, submitting, approving, posting, copying, changing a rule — is held, not made. The panel lists exactly what would change, record by record and value by value, with a Confirm button and a Cancel button under it.
- Ask for the change in plain words: “move PO-000012 to 15 April”.
- Read the list under “ASK will do this only when you confirm”.
- Press Confirm to make exactly those changes, or Cancel to make none.
A question in between does not lose the list. Ask “where is the Confirm button?” or anything else and the same list, with its Confirm, is shown again under the answer, until you confirm it, cancel it or ask for something different.
A list carried over from an earlier turn is confirmed with its button, not by typing “yes”: a “yes” typed later may be the answer to something else.
Naming master data by its code or its name
Cost centers, profit centers, GL accounts and other master data can be named either way: “charge it to CC-HR” or “charge it to the Human Resources cost center”. ASK looks the record up on the same list the form would offer, with your own access, and asks again the way a person would mean it if the first look finds nothing. The confirmation card shows the code you will recognise — “cost center: CC-HR” — rather than an internal reference.
If ASK ever says “press Confirm” without having listed a change, it is made to list it; if it still has nothing to list, the answer says plainly that nothing is waiting for your confirmation and nothing was changed. A “how do I…” question is answered in words and never changes anything.
