Configured quotation lines from a file
Configured lines from a file… on a quotation’s Lines tab adds several configured lines at once from a spreadsheet of the model’s characteristics: download the template, fill one row per configuration, Check, then Add lines.
- Open the quotation, go to Lines and press Configured lines from a file….
- Choose the model, then Download the template (Excel), or Download as CSV. The template has the line’s columns (Model, Quantity, Markup %, Unit price, Notes) and one column for each of the model’s characteristics, with a second row listing what each accepts. A row starting with # is never read.
- Fill in one row per configured line. Leave Unit price empty to price the row from cost plus its Markup % (or the configurator’s price); a Unit price given is used as given.
- Choose the filled-in file and press Check. Every row is configured and priced, then rolled back: nothing is written yet. The report shows each row as Would be added or Refused, with the reason.
- Press Add lines. Each row that passes becomes one configuration and one line on the quotation; the report says, row by row, Added or Refused and why.
- Each row goes through the same questions and rules as Configure, so a row that breaks a rule is refused with the rule’s own message and the others are still added.
- Prices are in the quotation’s currency.
- Unit cost and Margin % in the report are shown only to people who may see the configurator’s Cost Sheet.
- Columns the template does not know are listed under Columns not used.
