Financial holds come off when the bill is paid

Paying a bill releases the holds that name it straight away, and once a student owes nothing at all, any other financial hold on them is released too.

• The hold Issue places on a bill, and the hold an overdue bill places, are released the moment that bill is paid or its invoice is cancelled. Its overdue alert is resolved at the same time.
• A financial hold placed by hand stays while the student still owes something (another bill, a late fee). When a payment leaves nothing outstanding it is released as well, with the note 'Released automatically: ... was paid and nothing is outstanding'.
• This works however the money arrives: Record payment on Student Billing, Apply receipt on the AR invoice, or a confirmed UPI payment.

Holds of any other type (academic, library, disciplinary and so on) are never released by a payment.
