Stock reserved for a sales order
Confirming a sales order reserves its stock line by line. Cancelling the order gives the stock back, and goods issue uses the reservation up.
- On confirm, each stock line reserves what is free in its warehouse (on hand less what is already promised to other orders). The answer says what was reserved.
- If there is not enough free stock, the order is still confirmed and the shortfall is named. That part is not promised until stock arrives.
- Cancelling a confirmed order releases its reservations. Production orders made for the sales order keep theirs.
- Posting goods issue on a delivery uses up the order's reservation before the stock leaves.
The credit check already ran when an order was confirmed. That is unchanged.
