Sending your time and leave for approval
How a timesheet and a leave request reach your manager, and what happens when they decide.
- My time: choose the first and last day and press Open.
- Add each day's hours, or a clock in, clock out and break — the hours are worked out for you.
- Press Send for approval. The overtime rule that applies to you is run first, so your manager approves what will be paid.
- Your manager finds it in My approvals and in Team Approvals. When they approve it, the hours are available to payroll; if they send it back, the reason is shown and you can correct and send it again.
- My leave: choose the plan, the first and last day, and press Ask.
- Weekends and public holidays are not counted. The days are held against your balance while your manager decides.
- Withdraw a request that is still waiting if your plans change; the held days come back at once.
If you have no manager on your employee record, HR's self-service reviewers decide instead, so nothing waits for nobody.
Since 20 October people whose time policy requires punches clock in and out on My Clock, and a punch correction waits in the manager’s Team Approvals. See Clocking in and out: My Clock, Team Status, Who’s In, Time Policies, punch corrections and charging hours.
