Approve and release a project

A project accepts cost only once it is approved and released. Its work breakdown elements, milestones and job contract each move by their own buttons.

Open Accounting, Projects, and open the project.

• Approve: the project moves from planning to approved. You can record the approved amount.
• Release: the project starts accepting cost. Its work breakdown elements still in created are released with it.
• Start, Put on hold (with a reason), Resume, Technically complete and Close move it on. Close is refused while a work breakdown element is still open for postings.
• Cancel needs a reason and is refused once actual cost has been posted to the project.
• On a work breakdown element: Release, Technically complete, Lock, Unlock, Close and Cancel.
• On a milestone: Achieved, Confirm, Invoiced (naming an issued customer invoice), Missed and Cancel.
• On a job contract: Award, Activate, Suspend, Practical completion, Defects liability period, Complete, Close and Terminate. Results analysis reads contracts from awarded onwards.
