Run a till: sell, take returns and close the day
Open a session with its float, ring up sales, take returns, close with a cash count, and post the Z report.
- CRM > Point of Sale > POS Terminal. Choose your till, enter the float in the drawer and press Open.
- Scan a barcode or type an item number. The price comes from the store's price list and the tax from the company's tax rules.
- Take cash, card or both and press Charge. The change due is shown.
- For a return choose Return, find the sale by its ticket number, choose what is coming back and why, and press Take the return.
- At the end of the shift choose Close till, count the drawer including the float, and press Close session.
- A manager then posts the Z report under POS Z Reports > New, choosing the closed session.
- A cashier cannot give a discount larger than the store allows.
- If the network drops, sales are queued on the till and sent when it is back; each is recorded once.
- The Z report posts one journal: cash, card to the provider's clearing account, any over or short, net revenue, tax, and cost of goods against inventory. The stock is issued from the store's bin.
A session's Z report can be posted once, and only after the session is closed.
