Production orders for a configurable product
An order for a configurable product (such as TG100) must name its configuration. Without one, the order is not raised.
A configurable product's bill holds the parts of every variant at once, for example the 4-inch and the 6-inch case, glass, pointer, gasket, dial and box. An order made from that bill as it stands would pull double the material.
- On New production order, choose the Configuration. The order then carries only the parts and operations that configuration resolved to.
- Or configure the product under Supply Chain, Configure a Product, and raise the order from the configuration.
- Planned orders from MRP are converted only when they name a configuration.
- Any other way of creating the order is refused the same way, including the API, Ask, a copy and a kanban card.
