ASNs received automatically, with quality hold
An advance shipping notice that matches its purchase order within the tolerance is received when it arrives (or on its expected date). Stock that must be inspected goes on quality hold until the inspection passes.
- An ASN matches when every line points at an open line of its purchase order, and no line is more than the tolerance over what is still open (5% by default).
- An ASN that does not match is left for a person, and the run says why.
- Stock goes on quality hold, against an incoming inspection, when any of these apply: the item's quality record says it is inspected on receipt, its purchasing record routes receipts through inspection, the supplier is marked Inspect every delivery, or a released incoming inspection plan applies.
- When the inspection passes, or a usage decision accepts it, the stock moves from quality hold back to available.
- To inspect everything from one supplier, open Supply Chain, Suppliers, open the supplier and tick Inspect every delivery.
