What a requisition fills in for you
Raise a purchase requisition with only the item and the quantity; the department, cost center, location, warehouse, currency, need-by date, price and unit are filled from your employee record and the item, and shown to you before it is raised.
Anything you give is kept as you gave it. Anything you leave out is filled the same way every time, whether you use the Requisitions screen, the API or ASK:
- Department and cost center: from the position on your employee record (HRMS). Where the position has no cost center, the one cost center your business unit owns.
- Location: where your employee record says you work. Warehouse: that location's warehouse, when it has exactly one.
- Currency: the company's own, at a rate of 1.
- Category: the item's purchasing category, where it is one of the company's spend categories; otherwise the category the item was last requisitioned under.
- Each line's price: the item's standard cost, otherwise what it was last bought for, otherwise its purchasing list price. Each line's unit: the item's purchase unit, otherwise its own unit.
- Need-by date: today plus the longest purchasing lead time of the items; when none has one, today plus the company's default (Platform, Runtime Settings, Purchasing; 14 days unless changed).
What was filled is listed with the saved requisition (and in ASK's confirmation), so you can see it and change it. Nothing is filled when your sign-in is not linked to an employee record: an administrator links it with Signs in as on the employee in HRMS.
A requisition can name the Project it is for (on New, on Edit and as a column in the list). Nothing fills it in for you, and a project of another company is refused. A requisition raised from Material Requirements Planning names the sales order it buys for.
