Recording an interview’s outcome
An interview’s outcome is the interviewer’s verdict on the candidate, on a five-point scale.
Open HRMS › Interviews, edit the interview and choose its Outcome. The same five answers are used on interview feedback, so an interview and its scorecard speak one language.
| Outcome | What it says |
|---|---|
| strong yes | Hire; the interviewer would argue for this candidate. |
| yes | Hire, with no strong reservation. |
| no | Do not hire. |
| strong no | Do not hire; the interviewer would argue against this candidate. |
| no decision | The interview took place but gave no verdict, for example because it was cut short. |
Moving the application on or rejecting it is a separate step: use Advance or Reject on HRMS › Applications. The outcome records what the interview said; the application records what was decided.
An interview with a panel works differently: the outcome is worked out from the panelists’ marks by the panel’s rule, and a different outcome needs Override outcome and a reason. See Panel interviews: scorecards, marks and ranking.
Client interviews in Talent & Contingent Workforce keep their own outcomes (pass, fail, hold, offer, no decision), because there the client makes the decision.
