Budget and cash alerts
Each day the budget lines are compared with their plan to date and the cash forecast is rebuilt; a line over the variance threshold, or cash projected below the floor, is an alert to the controller.
- Budget variance: what a line has spent and committed against what was planned to date (a period line once its period has begun; a yearly line in proportion to the year gone). Over Budget alert over (%) is an alert.
- Cash floor: when set, the cash forecast is rebuilt over the forecast horizon and its lowest point is compared with the floor.
- An alert is raised once a day per line, listed under Accounting, Finance Automation, Finance Alerts, and mailed to the controller. Check now runs it at once.
