Every medication a patient is on

The Medications list in EHR shows what a patient takes or has taken, whether it was ordered there or prescribed under Prescribing.

A patient’s medications used to be in two places: those ordered with Prescribe on the Medications list, and the prescriptions written under Prescribing. The Medications list now shows both, so nobody checking what a patient is on misses a prescription.

• A medication that came from a prescription shows its Prescription number and when it Started.
• Open the prescription, on the row, takes you to it under Prescribing.
• A prescription is transmitted, dispensed or stopped on Prescribing; the Medications list follows it.
• Prescribe on the Medications list still orders a medication with its safety checks, as before.
