Placing new employees on the Organisation Chart

People with no manager and nobody reporting to them wait under Not placed yet. Tick them and choose Set manager, or drag one onto their manager.

A new employee with no manager is not shown beside the head of the company any more. They wait in the Not placed yet tray above the chart (Reporting line view) until somebody places them.

1. Tick the people to place under Not placed yet (or choose Select all).
2. Choose Set manager for <3>…
3. Type part of the manager's name, personnel number or position, for example <Helga> or <EMP-000004>, and pick them.
4. Choose Set manager. The message names how many people moved; choose Undo in it, or Undo last move in the toolbar, to put them all back.

• Set manager… is also on the panel under the chart when any card is selected, so nobody has to drag.
• You can still drag a card, or a name from the tray, onto the new manager's card.
• A change that would make the reporting line loop is refused and nothing is changed; the message names the people in the loop.
• Only people whose role may change employees (Employees, change) see Set manager, Import hierarchy and the tray's buttons.
