Utility service orders and My Service Orders
Field work at a premise — start, stop, transfer, meter install or exchange, re-read, disconnect, reconnect, leak, high bill — raised, assigned, started and completed, on a list or a calendar; and the technician’s own list.
CRM › Utilities › Utility Field Service › Utility Service Orders holds the field work. Most orders raise themselves — Start, Stop and Transfer service without a read, Ask for a re-read, Exchange this meter, a Disconnect order, a leak or tamper alarm, a customer request — and staff raise the rest.
Raising and assigning
- Press New service order. Choose the Work: start, stop, transfer, meter_install, meter_exchange, re_read, disconnect, reconnect, leak_investigation, high_bill_complaint, outage or other.
- Choose the Account, Premise and Meter it is for, the Priority (low, normal, high or emergency), the Scheduled date, the Technician and What to do.
- Assign hands an open order to a Technician for a date.
- Switch the list to Calendar to see the orders by their scheduled day.
Completing
- Start marks the order in progress.
- Complete records what was done: the Read (or the old meter’s final read), the New meter serial and New meter start read for an install or exchange, and What was done. For a reconnect, Waive the reconnect fee because — blank, and the fee is charged.
- Completing a stop order stops the service on its read and drafts the final bill when nothing is left on; a start order starts it; an exchange swaps the meters in Meter History.
- Cancel needs a reason.
My Service Orders
A field technician sees only their own orders, today’s and later, most urgent first, with the address, meter, life support flag and what to do. They press Start, then Complete with the read or the new meter. The Utility Field Technician role sees nothing else of Utilities.
The Life support column is there for a reason: a technician sent to a flagged premise should know before they knock.
