Training courses and enrolling people
HRMS › Development: a training course’s code, name and defaults, enrolling one person, several, or everyone in an organizational unit at once, and what an enrolment records.
A training course
- HRMS › Development › Training Courses › New. Code: letters, numbers and - _ . only, up to 30 characters (for example LDR-301). Name: up to 150 characters.
- A code is unique in the company whatever its letter case and spaces: ldr-301 or " LDR-301 " beside LDR-301 is refused with "A training course with code LDR-301 already exists. Use a different code." Spaces around a code or name are removed on save.
- Delivery starts at Self paced and Duration (hours) at 1, so you can see and change them before saving.
- Compliance training marks the course as compliance (mandatory) training: the Compliance column shows Yes. It sets no due dates, sends no alerts and enrols nobody by itself; people are enrolled by hand.
- Saving says which course: "Training Course QA-TC-06 created."
Enrolling people
- Enrol employee on a course enrols one person, with a Status.
- HRMS › Development › Course Enrollments › New, or + Add under Course Enrollments in the course’s 360° view (shown even on a course nobody is on yet): Employees takes several people, searched and added one after another, or Or everyone in an organizational unit (that unit and the units under it, current employees only). One enrolment is made for each person.
- Anybody already on the course is skipped and counted: "12 enrolled, 2 already enrolled – skipped". A person who is refused is named, and the rest are still enrolled.
- Status is a drop-down: Enrolled (the default), In progress, Completed, Expired. Completed on and Score (out of 100) appear only when Status is Completed.
- The course’s 360° view names each enrolment by the employee’s number and name and its completion date.
One enrolment per person and course: a lapsed course is renewed by changing that enrolment’s status, not by enrolling the person again.
Since 20 October courses can be assigned by rule, taught in sessions, grouped in learning paths and reported for compliance; certifications, skills and an outside LMS sit beside them under HRMS › Learning & Development. See Learning: assignment rules, sessions, learning paths, evaluations, compliance training, certifications and licenses, skills and an outside LMS.
