Timetable, registers and cumulative attendance

The timetable as a calendar with the state of every register, taking a register in one screen, and the Attendance dashboard with each student’s cumulative percentage.

The timetable calendar

  • Student Lifecycle › Rooms & Timetabling › Timetable opens on Calendar (Weekly pattern is the old grid, with clashes marked). Day, Week or Month, with ‹, Today and ›.
  • Show: My timetable (a teacher’s default), My classes (a student’s), or a Section, Teacher, Room, Student, Programme, or Everything.
  • Each class shows its register: register taken (with N/M present), today, to take, past, not taken, or to come. Press a class to open its register below the calendar.

Taking the register

  1. From My Teaching (Take register), a section’s Register tab, a class on the calendar, or Take a register on Attendance.
  2. Check the Date of the class (not a future day). Registers not taken lists the past classes still waiting.
  3. Type What was taught.
  4. Everybody starts Present. Change the ones who were Absent, Late or Excused; the line above counts them, and Attendance to date shows each student’s running figure.
  5. Press Save the register (Save the corrected register once taken). If the class did not happen, press Class did not take place instead.

Every class held or cancelled, what was taught and who took the register is on Teaching & Delivery › Class Sessions.

The Attendance dashboard

  • Teaching & Delivery › Attendance opens on Overall attendance, Students, Students below minimum, Sections below minimum, Classes today and Registers not taken (past four weeks), with a table by programme and the sections that need a look.
  • Drill All programmes › programme › section › student. A student’s page lists every class they were marked for, including the ones not marked.
  • Cumulative attendance is the classes attended out of the classes held since the student joined the section. Present, late, remote and excused count as attended; a cancelled class is not counted.
  • Below minimum follows the Alert Rules: by default under 75% (critical under 60%), judged after 4 classes.
  • The marks themselves are on Attendance Marks (the old Attendance list), now with Attended to date, Classes to date and Cumulative %. On Students, Attendance (cumulative) shows one student’s figure per course.
  • A teacher without Any section sees only the sections they teach.
