Releasing and revising an inspection plan

An inspection plan is written as a draft, released for use, and changed by revising it into a new version — the old one stays in use until the new one is released.

Inspection plans live under Manufacturing → Quality Planning → Inspection Plans. A new plan is a draft: add its characteristics with Characteristics, then press Release. A released plan is the one inspections use.

Changing a plan in use

  1. On the released plan, press Revise.
  2. A new draft version is made, with the same characteristics, for you to change.
  3. Release it when it is ready. From then on inspections use the new version.

While the new version is a draft, the old one stays released and in use, so inspections never stop for want of a plan. The Ver column shows which version each row is.
