Who may be an alumnus

By default anybody who studied here and has left, graduated or withdrawn, may be given an alumni record; a school that keeps its alumni for graduates switches that on in Runtime Settings.

An alumni record is for a former student. Somebody still studying here (active, admitted, on leave) is refused, whatever the setting.

• Off (the default): a graduated or withdrawn student may be given an alumni record, from Student Records (Transition to alumni) or on the Alumni screen.
• On: only a graduated student may be given one; a withdrawn student is refused with the reason.
• Graduating a student always opens the alumni record, whichever way the setting is.

1. Open Platform, Runtime Settings, Student lifecycle.
2. Tick or clear Only graduates may be alumni, and save.
