Recording a payroll tax deposit on the day it was made
Deposit it asks for the deposit date. Days late are worked out from that date, and a late deposit is reported as late.
In a payroll tax run, choose Deposit it and enter the day the money was paid in Deposit date. If you leave it empty, today's date is used.
- The date cannot be in the future, and it cannot be before the period started.
- Each deposit's Days late is the deposit date minus its due date. It is worked out again if the deposit is re-dated later under Payroll Tax Deposits.
- The Confirm the deposit period step now reports a deposit made after its due date as late, giving the number of days. It also reports a deposit that is overdue and has not been made yet.
- On Payroll Tax Liabilities, use Record a deposit on any row. The registration, run and period are filled in from the row, and the due date comes from the run.
