What to do next with a record
Every record page says what the record is waiting for, and offers the button that does it.
Open any record — a requisition, a purchase order, an invoice, a works order — and the strip above it says what it is waiting for: send it for approval, receive the goods, match and post, release, firm. The buttons beside it do exactly that, on the record, without going back to the list.
- The buttons are the same actions the list offers on that row, shown only when they apply to the record as it stands — a received order is not offered Receive.
- For the everyday flows the strip also says why that is the step and what happens after it: "When the goods arrive, receive them here — the receipt updates stock and lets the supplier’s invoice be matched."
- When a record is with approvers, the strip says so and points at the approval trail: there is nothing to do until they decide.
- A finished record — posted, closed, cancelled — shows no strip.
An action you are not allowed to take is refused with the reason, as it is on the list; your administrator grants it on your role under Platform → Access → Roles.
